Game Day!

It’s the day that Blue Jackets fans have waited eight seasons for.

It’s a game that I would give my right foot to be at.

Instead I’m having a gathering at my house to cheer on the Jackets as they enter their first playoff game.

We will be a rowdy bunch as we cheer on the Jackets.

Also, it would appear Detroit wants more CBJ fans in their arena.

Make sure you follow mytwitter for updates on the game!

The nerves have started for me, but Jackets fans, we have to believe...Why not us?

Also, I just got this offer in my inbox for game 2:

It’s playoff time! Package includes Deluxe overnight accommodations for two adults, two tickets to the playoff game and round-trip transportation to and from the game.

All of that for $269 bucks....not a bad price!!  You’d be staying at the Motor City Casino and Hotel.

Who’s going?

If I lived in Columbus, I would take that offer. Fair shake indeed!

I know they have a tough task ahead of them but I’m rooting for CBJ in this series.

Let’s see what Mason can do now that it’s crunch time!

What is that on the Red Wing Highway, a speed bump?

Just kidding. Congrats to Blue Jacket fans. This is a unique night, to be sure.

Welcome to the post-season. But be warned: it’s not fun, not at all.

Oh, sure, once in a while it ends the way you want, and your team lifts Lord Stanley. But, more often than not, the NHL playoffs are about stress, pain, anger, and binge drinking.

Welcome to the NHL playoffs.

Alert the BJs marketing department. I think they just found their playoff slogan. smile

As lame as that would be, it’s still better than “The Beard Is Back”. Thank god the success of the Red Wings doesn’t depend on the skill of their marketing staff. If it did, Tavares would be a Red Wing next year.

Let’s see what Mason can do now that it’s crunch time!

Exactly. Nash is a monster, but the BJs are only going as far as Mason carries them. If he pulls it off, kudos to him. If he doesn’t, well, he’s got a lot of years ahead of him to grow into the role.

Drop the puck. Let’s get it on.

Earlier I said, “Nash is a monster, but the BJs are only going as far as Mason carries them.” Well, I was half wrong. Nash wasn’t a monster. He was completely shut down by a Wings team that finally decided to play a full 60 minutes.

As for Mason, he is without a doubt the real deal. Tonight’s game would have been an 8-1 blowout without him. Sadly for him, his defensemen played just as incompetent as they really are. Too bad for the kid because he played a hell of a game.

Nothing is a guarantee at playoff time, but right now I’d say the BJs could legitimately start making tee times for two weeks from now. Next year? Well, that may be an entirely different story.

Hey,

Stayclassy.net has the Jackets going all the way. Some pretty compelling reasons too! Go Jackets!

It’s obvious that Nash needs some help. I do think that the off season they need that big signing. Great they made the playoffs, but a bit more experience is needed.
