Next entry: I need to sleep on this...

Previous entry: I'm not a homer...

Is Vermette the answer?

Vermette practiced on the top line with Rick Nash on his right and Huselius on his left.  I suppose we will see tomorrow if it’s going to pay off.  If I am thinking on a level as a coach...we need the offense and this is something to spark the offense.  With my thinking I’m not one for rewarding a player who isn’t playing well and Vermette hasn’t played well this series.  Of course if they score some goals tomorrow then I will just eat my words.

Vermette has the speed and the skill to play with Nash and Juice, and that’s why we brought him in.

Tomorrow night the Blue Jackets play their first ever HOME playoff game.  Nationwide has always been kind to the Blue Jackets, and hopefully it will remain the same tomorrow.

I guess the real story for tomorrow is the fans.  It’s our first chance to show ourselves as a fan base, well aside from the draft.  It’s time for us to step up and to cheer on our boys, even though they’re down by two games.  The Jackets are excited to come home to see what the atmosphere is like, let’s not let them down.  Cheer loud, wear your BLUE, and enjoy the game...and pray for no flying octopi.

Ryan Salmons is expected to be at the game tomorrow.  Did you know you can follow Ryan’s Fight on twitter? @teamsalmons.  Also in attendance, Gary Bettman.

If you can’t make it to the game, Puck-Rakers has you covered.  I haven’t had any issues getting the game down here...yet.

Tomorrow night I am looking for the Jackets leaders to step up.  Rick Nash has been held off the score sheet, he lead the team by example during the regular season, he needs to start leading again in the post-season.

The Blue Jackets have to play smart.  When the Jackets take penalties, the Wings score.

Mason has been great for us, but if we don’t score, what’s the poor kid to do?!

My stomach is already in knots and the puck doesn’t drop until 7 tomorrow...I love the playoffs.  It’s amazing how emotionally attached we as fans are to these teams.  I have spoken to fans from every team, and we all go through the same emotions whether your team is up 2-0 in a series or if they’re down two games.  It’s the best time to be a hockey fan.

In case you wanted to know what Rick Nash eats, the Dispatch has you covered.  It was actually quite interesting.  It has what he eats on game day and non-game days.

AND, NO Hippy Dave I’m not coming to your side!

More tomorrow.

Maybe if he keeps trying to ride Datsyuk like a pony.

Kinda. Excpet when you’re up, there is an internal hormone released, Cocaine I believe, that sends you to a private but oh so happy place where puppies and free hookers roam freely.

I hope you get a chance to experience it next year...if we don’t meet again.

Wow. Rick Nash eats a lot of yogurt.

Not to rain on your parade or nothing, but Vermette’s a bum.  That Bertuzzi move on Datsyuk the other night- he’s lucky no one got seriously hurt.

But, yeah, good luck tomorrow and all that.

This.

I have faith that Nash will find his way to the scoresheet by Hitchcock working him into matchups against the 3rd or 4th Wings line.  Problem is, the 1st or 2nd line will have a little less defensive responsibility, and be able to push a little more.

Homer (if being 600 miles away can be considered home) prediction: 5-3 Wings with an empty netter.

By the way, I’ve always LOVED your friggin cannon; hope you guys are rockin.  I would love to see that shit get fired up in the playoffs, just not against my Wings.

Brassard has been cleared for contact and could possibly play in game four

Not getting too far ahead, but what’s the BJs fans’ thoughts on this?  Just because a guy has been “cleared” doesn’t mean throw him into gave four of a playoff series.  He more likely to play if the Jackets win tonight?

JJ I will have more on that tomorrow.  I don’t think he’s going to play at all.  It’s just not smart, and quite frankly there is no point to take a chance on him getting hurt again.
