Letting him rest…

Time to let the kid rest. It was obvious against Dallas, and it was obvious against the Blues last night, Steve Mason needs to rest!! Thankfully, Hitchcock got the message and on Friday, in Pittsburgh, Dubie gets his first start as a Blue Jacket.
Let’s talk about the game. We hit a lot of posts - but that is no excuse for the way we played. Not saying anything bad about a team that is able to play a pretty style of hockey, but we aren’t that team. We don’t win hockey games with that. We win by outworking the other team and playing a “weighty” game.
Hitchcock said that if the team didn’t get it, they’ll get it before heading to Pittsburgh on Friday. I certainly hope so. The last two games have been awful.
Kristian Huselius needs to start shooting the puck. There were two or three times where I saw he had a shot, but didnt take it.
Steve Mason needs to rest, A LOT. Sleep, eat some chicken noodle soup, that’s all you can do, oh, and hope that it goes away!!
Freddy Modin was everywhere last night. It was one great shift after another.
Jared Boll actually won a fight! Shock.
My favorite punch is the one at the very end as they were beginning to go down.
Rusty looked okay, but I’m glad to have him back, we’ve missed him.
Now that we are healthy, we have to get the chemistry back.
We also have to have the goaltending back. Mason is ill, Dubie has to step it up and do what he did for the Islanders back in the day.
This is the time to step up the game, and to make this real. I can feel it, deep in my gut that this is the year. The guys just need to make it happen.
