I’m here, I made it to Columbus!! I will update during the game!
There aren’t too many fans here, but the one’s that are, are being quite loud.
Also, did I mention that this is my first preseason game...ever. Because, if I didn’t, it totally is.
Guy cheering below the box, totally can’t join you, but in spirit, I totally am.
Jackets look good in the first minute after winning the faceoff. Also, Voracek looks BIG even from up here.
Just realized that Filatov is scratched. There goes that story...unless I see him in the room after the game.
Jackets score! I totally jumped after hearing that cannon, again, I may have a heart attack by the end of the night. Goal by Craig MacDonald assists go to Voracek and Backman. Beauty.
MacDonald just took a penalty for hooking. Get to have a good look at the PK. Nash had a shorthanded opportunity, he is so amazing.
Great kill by the Jackets. Boll is hitting everything that moves.
Everything is pretty quiet, the fans thought they missed a call, so they’re cheering louder. There are quite a few fans here.
The Jackets really do look pretty good tonight.
Pazzy looks solid, I think he is ready for opening night. Nash keeps getting opportunity after opportunity, he looks great. They are playing absolutely solid as a team.
Craig Weller hooked one of the Jackets players, and is serving his penalty, Nash had a golden chance, and then Umberger got one and buried it. Jackets up 2-0 with 32.9 left in the first. Assists go to Nash and Huselius.
Jackets end the first period up 2-0. That’s not a bad lead, but not perfect. Also, want to see the view from my seat? Here you go!
Jackets just had a great opportunity to score, but no such luck.
Eric Belanger just took a hooking penalty, Jackets on the PP, yet again.
There was a bit of scrum, I couldn’t tell who was in it, all I know is that the Boogie man *who seriously frightens me* is out, and yapping his jaw.
Tyutin looks really good, I am enjoying watching him, but I keep thinking that he is Andrew Murray, who is on the roster as 51, as is Tyutin. I am pretty sure Murray is wearing 15 this season.
The Wild are taking WAY too many penalties, Cal Clutterbuck is in the box for interference. Also, random fact, we have 17 shots on goal, the Wild, halfway through the second, have 5.
Golden opportunity for the Jackets, couldn’t get the puck to touch a stick, even though it was right on the line.
Okay, now the Jackets score, and I almost cheered. How embarrassing. The goal was from Huselius, with an assist to Matvichuk, and Hejda. Jackets 3 Wild 0.
Matvichuk just took a holding penalty, Jackets on the PK.
Pazzy is absolutely solid tonight, he has made two spectacular saves so far on this PK. Shots 21-8 in favor of Columbus.
Wild score. 3-1 still in favor of the Jackets. We still have a solid lead. Goal was scored by Owen Nolan.
Wow, apparently I spoke way too soon. Jackets 3 Wild 2, we need to slow this game down, and get it back in our favor. Goal scored by Marian Gaborik.
Tyutin took a hooking penalty, please don’t let them score.
Nash just had an amazing opportunity, yes, again, to score.
Wild come back to tie the game up. A goal from James Sheppard, his first of the preseason...dang it.
Pazzy got run into. He is working his right leg. Let’s hope he is okay. I couldn’t tell who ran into him.
Wild tie it up as soon as I sent mocking texts to Elise. Maybe I should have taken it back...or never sent them at all.
I am absolutely freezing, and the game is tied. Second intermission here. Let’s hope we can recover from this.
Random note, Nash had the turnover that lead to Gaborik’s goal.
Here we go again. Third period is about to begin. Shots on goal 28 for the Jackets and 15 for the Wild.
Jackets just missed the net three times.
Oh no, Norrena is now in net, Pazzy must be hurting pretty good, and I don’t think I see him on the bench.
Fedor Tyutin just had a beauty of an open ice hit. Seriously, it was amazing.
Norrena just had a great save. Still no sign of Pazzy.
There haven’t been any fights tonight, surprising considering the fighters that are in.
Gaborik is in the box for hooking. Jackets still leading in shots 30-24, but Jackets are being beaten in shots this period. Norrena looks great.
Burns took down Voracek, he got a roughing penalty, as did Chimera.
Jackets score! 4-3 Jackets. That is great news. Russell from Umberger and Nash. My fingers are freezing and this is becoming harder to type.
The Jackets fans are pumped. Which makes me pumped. They really are looking a lot better this period.
Gaborik in the box for holding.
11,794 is the announced attendance. Not bad for a game that means nothing.
No more updates, heading to the room.

Blogging from the press box, I hear, Bethany? How’s the view? And where are the photos?!
Just kidding. Hope you’re enjoying the game… as long as that freakin’ cannon doesn’t scare you over the side of the balcony.

I’m still working on the photos, you know the Blackberry can only do so much!
Haha, and I will try to stay on my side of the balcony, although the guys below seem friendly enough :D

Bethany, who is this Sistito in the lineup for the Jackets ?
Posted by PuckHound61 from Speckville USA on 10/03/08 at 06:24 PM ET
Is he any good, what position does he play?
If he is still with the club this far into pre-season, sounds like he could make the club?
Posted by PuckHound61 from Speckville USA on 10/03/08 at 06:28 PM ET
He’s a left wing, he’s a tough guy, so not a lot of upside. He might be the replacement for Torres, but that’s still up in the air.

Definitely don’t cheer up there. I’ve spent many a game up there and its seriously frowned upon. Tell Lori Schmitt of 1460 hi for me.

No worries. I am pretty good at controlling myself.
I will if I see her. I haven’t run into anyone from there just yet.

Tom Sestito was a star player for the Plymouth Whalers in the 2006-2007 season when they won the OHL Championship. He led the team in offensive points AND majors. He was just as likely to score a goal in a game as he was to fight. Big fan favorite, but as Bethany said he’s probably going after the tough guy role (which former Whalers teammate Jared Boll already has) so he’ll be heading back to the Syracuse Crunch really soon.

Thanks Christy! He’s in the running for Torres spot for the next 6 weeks, but we’ll see. Movements may come today.

Thanks for those mocking texts haha
And I think that’s actually Shep’s second goal of the preseason. He scored against the Blackhawks in the second game, too. I’m telling you, that kid’s going to be great in a couple years!
