Next entry: Hitchcock gets #500

Previous entry: A point lost

Moving right along

The Blue Jackets beat the St. Louis Blues last night to move up to sixth in the Western Conference.  They played the game for 40 minutes and then the final period, as Hitch said, “Played the score.”  They almost gave the Blues a point, but were able to pull it out, thanks to Steve Mason.

The third period was pathetic, we sat back and let the Blues score two goals to make it a one goal game.  It was unacceptable, and one of the periods that make Hitchcock “hate coaching.”

Fortunately we’re playing a game tonight so we don’t have a lot of time to worry about it

Slapshots on the Jackets:

*We’re currently losing to the Leafs 3-2 in the second.

*Doug MacLean had some choice words to say about Rimmer, our beloved announcer, on the Fan590.  MacLean called Rimmer a homer, and said that he can’t stand listening to him.  He then received an e-mail saying didn’t you hire him?  MacLeans response, we all make mistakes.  Yeah Doug, the Jackets made a mistake by hiring YOU.  Rimmer is just fine, thank you very much.  I can’t wait to talk to Rimmer about this.

*If the Jackets pull out this win, it will be Coach Ken Hitchcock’s 500th win as a coach.  Good for him!!!

*There are 12 days until the NHL trade deadline.  There was a survey last night on what the Blue Jackets need.  Should we keep this team the same?  Look at what we’ve accomplished, but I say no.  We have to do something, it can’t be a temporary fix though, we are building for the future, and the now.  We need a young center, not Brassard, but in addition to Brassard.  We need that right handed shot blue liner.  This team is not a contender (duh) but we are getting there, and the deadline will hopefully allow us to get one step closer.

*It just feels good to be a Blue Jackets fan right now, we have so many good things going on.  My best Blue Jackets friend, Kayleigh, and I have a deal going on, I will reveal the deal a later day, but basically you’ll find out if we make the playoffs.

*With Boll and Dorsett on our team, would we be willing to trade either of them?

*How cute is this?
