Nash beats Wings

The Wings were without two of their best players, and lost another player during the game. Rick Nash took advantage of the situation, and carried the Blue Jackets into victory. Nash scored a short-handed goal, a power play goal, and an even strength goal in OT, to give the Jackets two crucial points. What a game.
The Jackets came out flying, but Hossa scored on the power play to give the Wings a lead. The Blue Jackets hopped on their captains back, and followed his lead, and won the game. Mason had a decent night, but he wasn’t the story, for the first time this season.
The second period saw Nash score twice, and the Wings scored to tie it up. No scoring in the third, and you could feel what was going to happen.
Even on television you could tell that tonight was something special for Rick Nash. Overtime began, and Nash was set up on a weird play by Commodore and the puck went in the net, and the hats came down flying.
This is the stretch that means the most. This is where we make our push to the playoffs. We have a legitimate chance to get in for the first time ever, and Rick Nash is willing to do anything in his power to help us get there. I was so worried that he wouldn’t be rested because he had to play in the All-Star game, but he looked great. I know Nash would say it was a team effort, but really, his effort alone made the Blue Jackets play better.
The crowd was excellent tonight, it was announced at 16,438. They were vocal, and they helped the Jackets quite a bit when the boys seemed to slow it down.
Jason Chimera won 6 out of 10 faceoffs tonight. Other than that, I really didn’t notice Chimmy.
Commodore looked great tonight. I love that guy. He had two assists tonight, he also played a whopping 26:02 on the night.
Mason is Mason, he gives us a chance to win every single night, and well, tonight wasn’t any different.
Paul posted this earlier but Zetterberg left the game with back spasms.
Nash is a beast. He had his third career hat trick and honestly, I don’t even know what to say. He is our All-Star and we are lucky to have him as our captain. He may not be the most vocal guy, but his play on the ice really sums it up.
