Please tell me that this is just in practice.
The top line that the Blue Jackets are practicing as are Chimera-Nash-Huselius. Yup, Nash is centering the top line.
I don’t know that Nash has ever played center, I would have to look into it, but if you remember Modin was moved to center, as was Zherdev. More, when Puck-Rakers updates it.
UPDATE: The last time Rick Nash played center was when he was NINE years old. In all honesty, I’m up for anything if it makes us win, especially on Thursday against Adam Foote and the Colorado Avalanche. My only issue with it, is that it would be breaking up the kid line. They’re the only line that is producing, and well why risk it? Toss someone else up there. See what they can do.
Here’s what Hitchcock told Tom Reed.
“There was no consistent pressure being placed on the puck on the line Rick was on,” the coach said. “There were no cycle opportunities, no forechecking-turnover opportunities.
“If it wasn’t getting done off the rush, it wasn’t getting done. There was too much waiting for the game to come. This way you have no choice but to get involved. You have speed, you have skill, you have size on that line.”
Alright, I suppose we will know on Thursday what is going to happen with Nash.
In Pascal Leclaire is injured news. The goaltender is going to seek another opinion from the Cleveland Clinic.
