Caution, emotional post ahead.
Seriously? Letting in three goals on eight shots is totally ridiculous.
Not scoring on the power play is even more ridiculous. Okay, so Nash got a power play goal, I wrote that before.
Scoring your first goal on the 29th shot, is more ridiculous.
Losing to a team that played the night before, including their goaltender, makes me mad.
This team is killing me.
Why can’t we win?
This is a game we have to win. I don’t understand.
Until tonight we were 4-0 against Canadian teams.
The fourth goal the Oilers scored was the worst. Dustin Penner hopped on top of Leclaire, and Gilbert scored.
Penner then added the fifth goal for the Oilers. I can’t really be mad at him, he is one of my Cincinnati Ducks boys. He had been a healthy scratch the last couple of games, and his coach…well, his coach doesn’t really appreciate him.
“He’s not competitive enough or fit enough to help us, so why put him back in? He’s never been fit enough to help us,” said Oilers head coach Craig MacTavish. “We signed him to be a top-two line player and that’s kind of where it ended. The difference was we thought the contract was a starting point, and he’s viewed it as a finish line. “It’s been one thing after another. I can’t watch it for - certainly not another two and-a-half years.”
I know that Leclaire wasn’t at fault for all of the goals, but, he should have been pulled after the second, at least. Leclaire let in SEVEN goals on 19 shots.
This was Edmonton’s biggest output of the season, and as I wrote that, Lubomir Visnovsky scored the Oilers 7th goal of the night. I think Leclaire gave up.
This game better be used as a wake up call for this team. We should have capitalized on our chances, and we didn’t. We had 2 goals on 39 shots,
I don’t even know what to say.
More later, after I calm down.

NO DumbA$$, this is a MotherFu#$@ Blue Jackets blog. It’s a fan taking about her team or did the banner not signal that?

Bethany: I’m not legally allowed to feel bad for you or the team, but let me say this. The Oil were humiliated last night against us and were plenty mad. They also had plenty of energy because they quit after the second period. The BJs got every bit of that anger.

Nate, it was a brutal game. You know, you’re not the first person to bring up Nash being a good choice as Captain. I think he is, I know he is, but for whatever reason he’s having a hard time this season. I have some theories on why, but I think he is still adjusting.
Osrt: I know they were mad, but man, losing to that team, like that, at home, it’s a big hit.

Last night, both Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond said they felt sorry for Columbus because they knew the Oilers were going to take out their frustration over losing to the Wings on the BJs. But I don’t think anyone thought they were that frustrated.

You know, I passed on watching last night’s game because I thought the Jackets could handle the Oilers.
After watching the highlights, I’m just flabbergasted. I love Pazzy, but it just wasn’t his night. And for Hitch to say he would have pulled him after the fifth goal was a little shocking. I figured Mase would be in after the fourth goal, if not for the start of the 3rd period.
It’s such a Jackets move, though. Take 3 out of 4 points on a mini-road trip, then lay an egg at home. It’s a pity, too: The attendance was up a little from other weeknight games, and they delivered nothing.
Whatever that was last night, they’ve got 4 days to figure it out.

Well, I was very frustrated with last night’s game. I am frustrated with Rick Nash…I am frustrated with Pazzy and even find myself being frustrated with Hitch. Rick is definitely not having a great year…he is our Captain and I expect more out of him. Sometimes I feel like he is too easily frustrated and at times even intimidated. I love the Jackets and I keep looking for the silver lining but thus far I haven’t found it. Hitch needs to do a major shake up on this team. They are much better than they are playing. I will say I agree with Bethany about the goat line and I would make Mason by starting goalie. The team seems to be motivated by him. Hitch we are watching and waiting for the shake up!

The sooner Columbus and Nashville are gone the better as far as I’m concerned. These are minor league cities and exhibit A on why Gary Buttman should be fired.

Ouch. Didn’t see the game, but that box score is not pretty.
I keep expecting and wanting that team to make a strong push for the playoffs one of these years, and they keep stumbling. At some point, that team is going to have to get some D that knows what it’s doing.
Nash especially deserves more. I don’t know a lot about the guy’s personality, but is he a good choice to be Captain? I like him, but from what little I’ve seen, he always strikes me as a bit on the timid side off the ice.
