Peca Out

Michael Peca will be missing the beginning of camp, according to the Dispatch. He is suffering from bronchitis, and the doctors don’t want to take a chance on it turning into pneumonia. This isn’t exactly an ideal situation for the Jackets, but it is something that we will have to suffer through. No word on how long he will be out.
Onto happier news, and yes, there is some.
Nikita Filatov can begin practicing a week from today. This is great news for Blue Jackets fans, we all want to see what this kid can do up close, and not just his YouTube highlights.
Blue Jackets top goaltending prospect, Steve Mason is expected to begin practicing in three weeks. Mason underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a minor tear earlier this year.
Practice starts tomorrow at 9:45 a.m., and if you are heading to the Ice Haus tomorrow, make sure to meet Light the Lamp at Boston Pizza at 12:30 for a get together. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend, but I will be meeting up with Tapeleg Monday, at Mac’s at 6:00 p.m.. It should be a good time, please join us if you get the chance!!
Hockey season is finally upon us. The first pre-season game is Tuesday!

Mac’s at 6 on Monday? A Scotch Egg sounds so tempting…

SYF, I hope so.
Kick Save, you HAVE to come! And, you’re the second person who has told me about the Scotch Egg…

DEFINITELY keep him away from the rest of the team - one of the most annoying things in any workplace is sick people dragging themselves into work, hacking infectious particles and spreading contagion everywhere. Keep your germs to yourself, I say.
At least it’s early so he isn’t rundown from a long road trip or anything. He should bounce back that much more quickly.

I agree, he said that it went through his house and he was the last one to get it. So hopefully he’s back on the ice by Wednesday.
