Roster for Chicago

Puck-Rakers has revealed the roster for tomorrow night versus Chicago. Not really surprised that none of the big name players are in aside from our backup goalie, Fredrik Norrena. Norrena will likely get the start instead of LaCosta, just to get Freddy going. On defense they have mostly the young guys in:

Ole-Kristian Tollefsen
Christian Backman
Marc Methot
Kris Russell
Aaron Rome
Clay Wilson

I’m a bit surprised that Backman is in, simply because he’s a bit of a vet. But, other than that, no real surprise on the d-men.

Onto the forwards!

Jason Chimera
Tom Sestito
Jiri Novotny
Derek MacKenzie
Derick Brassard
Steve Kelly
Mike York
Jared Boll
Jakub Voracek

The only shocker for me was that Boll was in. He broke his hand earlier in the summer, and was expected to be ready for training camp, but I’m still a bit shocked that they’re putting him in right off the bat. I hope his hand is ready to go. I do find it strange that Chimera is in, but I guess I shouldn’t be. Chimera is the type of guy that just loves to play.

I am excited and anxious to see what Voracek does tomorrow night. It will be his first “real” test in the NHL.

Any shockers for you guys?
