The end of the Goat Line

How depressing.  The best line for the Jackets the entire season has been Chimera - Brassard - Voracek.  Well, tonight, Brassard is getting the opportunity to play with the big boys.  Brassard is centering the Nash and Huselius line.  It’ll be nice to see what he’s able to do, however, I LOVE the goat line.  They’re exciting, they seem to be the only ones playing night in and night out.

Pascal Leclaire is starting in net for the Blue Jackets, he shutout the Sabres last season at home.  Let’s hope we see the return of Leclaire 2.0, you know the guy who loves shutting teams out, and doesn’t get injured.  That’d be sweet.  Mason will backup and go in Minnesota tomorrow night.

I hate back to back games, but it’s a good challenge…I suppose.

Here are the lines for tonight:

Huselius - Brassard - Nash
Chimera - Malhotra - Umberger
Modin - Peca - Torres
Voracek - Novotny - Boll

Voracek on the fourth line doesn’t make me happy.  But, what can you do?  Maybe this will get Novotny going.  Tollefsen is out of the lineup tonight, and Methot is back in.

I talked to a kid in my class today, Zach, he had on a hockey t-shirt.  Very rarely do I see anyone with hockey anything on, so when I do I talk to them.  Turns out he’s from Canada, and a big Habs fan.  I asked him about the Jackets, and he said he hadn’t seen them this year yet, but they always seem to be average.  I went on about the new defense, and our rookie goaltender phenom, and anything I could think of.  But, after telling him the Jackets record, he seemed disinterested, and was like yeah, yeah, yeah, they’re average.

I want nothing more than for my boys, to prove him wrong, well, prove everyone wrong.

Start tonight.
