If that was a playoff preview…count me in.
What a game! It wasn’t even the score, it was the physical play and the way the Jackets took control of the game.
With the way the Blue Jackets came out in Florida, I worried if that would be prepared, but they were.
They were strong in every situation, every player played extremely well.
Here’s Hitchcock on the game tonight.
“I thought we had a lot of good performances throughout the lineup, especially in the third period. Our defenseman did a great job against the boards, defending. We moved it well five-on-five and on the power play. Our goalie was a big part of this too, so we needed to show ourselves we could raise our competitive level. We raised our competitive level and got rewarded for it.”
Nash had four assists a career high for our young captain. He also has a career high for points. Keep it up Nash.
Huselius had four assists.
Williams had two goals.
And, let’s not forget my number one star of the night, Steve Mason. The kid got his NHL leading TENTH shutout tonight, stopping all 33 shots he faced.
The penalty kill was strong as the Flames went 0-7 on the power play.
The power play was great, scoring not one, but TWO power play goals on the night.
The game was gritty, here’s one of the fights…well two of the fights.
I was hoping Hitchcock’s presser would be up, but it’s not yet, so I guess I will talk about that tomorrow.
