Winter Classic

The Winter Classic is in Chicago this year, and I am one of the lucky ones that gets to go!
So any suggestions that you may have about what do New Years Eve let me know!
Also, if any of you are going let me know! I’ve only been to Chicago once so this will be a very new experience for me. If you have anything that you want to know about the game, like what the experience was like, anything let me know.
I am really excited about this opportunity, so anything I can do…let me know!!
Also, the Jackets want YOU and a friend to come to the Winter Classic.
Here’s what you need to know!
COLUMBUS, OHIO — The Columbus Blue Jackets and NBC 4 (WCMH-TV) want to send one lucky fan and a guest to the 2009 NHL Winter Classic at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field in Chicago on Thursday, January 1. The winner will receive two tickets to the game, airfare and hotel accommodations, flying to Chicago on New Year’s Eve and returning the following night after the game. Fans can enter to win online at http://www.BlueJackets.com or by visiting nbc4i.com (keyword: Blue Jackets) today through Tuesday, December 23.
The 2009 NHL Winter Classic features an “Original Six” matchup of Central Division clubs as the Chicago Blackhawks take on the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings. The game will be televised live on New Year’s Day at 1 p.m. ET on NBC 4. The contest will be the third outdoor game in league history. The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 at Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium on Nov. 22, 2003, while the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 in a shootout at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, New York on Jan. 1, 2008.

I’ll be at the game too - Should be a hell of a lot of fun.
As for stuff to do in our lovely city on New Year’s Eve - bars can be expensive but there are ones that won’t charge cover. If you want - let me know where you’re at in the city and I might be able to recommend a place.

I’m flying in from Vancouver that night (31st). We’ll be in Des Plaines (30 mins or so out of downtown). Any suggestions on what to do that night?

DetCapC19, I am interviewing Eddie ‘O’ on Dec. 30th and will be posting the interview on KK that day.
I plan to ask him where fans should go and since Eddie lives in Chicago, I am sure he will have a few recommendations. Stay tuned…

I think the city does fireworks over lake michigan on new year’s eve. you may want to check that out.
if you are thinking about stopping at the starbucks in lafayette, indiana, just off I-65 (State Road 26 exit) let me know I can probably run over have coffee and a conversation.
