Well, I honestly can’t complain about the recent stretch of games the Jackets…aside from the last Red Wings game. It was the first time we have been shutout since January 6. The Jackets looked awful to put it plainly, and the Red Wings put on a clinic. The win allowed the Red Wings to clinch a playoff spot.
So, instead of focusing on the negative which I have done for the last 24 hours or so, I want to focus on the positive.
*We are still in the sixth playoff spot. First time ever!!
*Antoine Vermette is good. Really good. He’s a fast skater, a great puck mover, and has great chemistry with all the other members of the team.
*The power play is slowly improving. It has to improve for us to make a dent in the playoffs. Of course the last game with the Red Wings the power play “sucked” in the words of Ken Hitchcock.
*Beating some of the best teams in the league, is an awesome feeling. I didn’t expect the team to do this well in this stretch, and they have proven that they can compete.
*Steve Mason is still a stud. He definitely has the ability to compete against the best teams in the league. However, the Red Wings were so good the other night.
*Rick Nash is the leader of this hockey club in every form of the word. I couldn’t be prouder of the way he has developed into his new role.
*Kevin Laland was named the AHL player of the week. He stopped 111 out of 114 shots this week. It’s nice to know that he’s helping out the Crunch, and that we have some great goaltenders in our system.
What else is there to report? The Blue Jackets have a game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday at home. Aaron Rome has been a disappointment for me this call up, I am hoping he gets another shot to prove his worth. I know that he can be an effective blue liner.
I can’t be all positive after watching that video.
Michae Peca said it best.
“It was a humiliating experience.”
Give the Red Wings all the credit in the world they deserved to win that game, and we deserved what we got out of that game - nothing.
Also, any Blue Jackets fans, or Preds fans heading to the game in Nashville on April 4, shoot me an e-mail or a comment.

Cheers! How the hell those two Freaks of Nature Mason and Nash are NOT in a Wings sweater is against all common sense.
