We are two games into the preseason now, and with a game tonight against the dreaded Predators. It’s time for another update.
The Jackets lost the first two preseason games, the first a 5-4 OT loss to the Penguins, the second, last night a 2-0 loss to the Wild.
The scariest news out of last night, was that Jason Chimera, was carried off on a stretcher after a hit from Eric Belanger (of course don’t forget that Chimera gave the crowd 2 thumbs up as he left).

Update on Salmons

Ryan Salmons was able to attend last nights game. He will also be appearing on ESPN’s First Take along with Jason Chimera according to Puck-Rakers.
If you’re a DirecTV customer it’s on ESPN2 channel 209. The show is on now, but the segment hasn’t aired yet. It’s on until noon.

Trades, Planes, and Injuries…

The Jackets ran into a hot Canuck team last night. It also didn’t help that the Jackets seemed like they didn’t care one bit about the game.
Thankfully the Jackets remain in sixth place in the Western Conference with another big game coming up tomorrow against the LA Kings.
The real story though, the trade deadline.

Back to the season…

Your friendly Blue Jackets blogger took the All-Star break off, sort of, to get some much needed rest. It was however unintentional, I just needed a break...from everything.
If you want my thoughts on what is going on with the Red Wings vs. the NHL, I think it’s great...only because they will miss a game against my boys. However, it’s not fair, and a player should not be forced to go to the All-Star Game, or to do as Crosby did. If they feel it is in their best interest to skip the game, then they should. Lidstrom is one of the classiest players in the NHL, and I would much rather have him in a regular season game (even against my team) than serving a suspension for not showing up at the All-Star Game. If Mason was suspended for skipping out of the YoungStars game, I would be throwing a fit also.
