Forsberg on Skates

From a practice with MoDo February 11th, according to this Youtuber.
Well, who knows for sure. And I’m not sure it says much… but at least it seems to indicate his foot works well enough that he can cross a small pond quickly and without crutches.
Thanks to Ryan for pointing the video out to me.
So, should we be dreaming about him in a Canucks sweater? I’m not personally sold on The Forsberg Solution, but I’ll confess: I do like watching any hockey player who can score a freakin’ goal. Even in practice.
Update 4:53pm PT: Just saw this headline in the National Post: “Forsberg: An Accident Waiting to Happen"… which seems like a reasonable position to take, no?
Well, what the hell. Vancouver has such a lovely collection of Swedes—might as well add a glass one to the shelf.

What’s a $6 Million Dollar Man to do with his summer vacation? Well, get himself on Much Music, to start.
Here’s his appearance on “Much on Demand” from June 13th, before the NHL awards ceremony. You can download the file here or watch on the video player below.

NHL Locker Room Fun

I’ve made somewhat of a career out of giving Chris Chelios a hard time. The more voraciously irritated Detroit fans have sent me emails over the years, decrying my abuse, but they’ve got it all wrong—I’m actually a fan!
But damned if that means I can pass up an easy joke. Nor can KnobHockey. In their newest release, Chris Chelios runs a locker room Q&A session with the boys.
It’s awesome, especially the Todd Bertuzzi part. I want a transcript of this one.
*Check out Knob Hockey’s site for some other interesting choices, like “Hot Goalie-on-Goalie Action” and “Too Many Niedermayers!”

I don’t know how I missed this Charlie Teljeur cartoon before, but in honor of today’s game it seemed like the perfect time to place it front and center…

P.S. Vancouver Canucks fans: please avert your eyes at 1:39. (Yes, I suffer so you don’t have to. You’re welcome.)

Game #5 Theme: Get the Biscuit in the Basket

The Swedish Chef prepares a chicken (just a retired duck, I figure) for dinner. Honestly, this has ZIP to do with anything. Vancouver, Anaheim, hockey… nothing. But it still entertained me.
Just think of the “Chicky” as “Selanne” and I guarantee that you’ll enjoy it as much as I did…
*feel free to substitute “Selanne” with any of these other fine choices: Pronger, Getzlaf, Kunitz, Moen… hell, any of them.

Update: Tickets are gone now… sorry.
Update: MORE TICKETS! If you want to catch the game in Anaheim on Wednesday, check out these seats and help out a Canucks & Beyond reader who ended up with some extras.

As I mentioned the other day, CTV News filmed a segment with our podcast, The Crazy Canucks. Lots of drunken footage John, Rebecca, J.J. and Dave from last Friday night. And I show up briefly later in the segment (nicely behaved and sober as a nun, for once! )
