- First, Michael Grabner was imported to the Canucks today in order to flush out a minimalist lineup. Excitement and trepidation ensues.
- But then, Pavol Demitra promptly defies all the odds (built on an entire career of breaking off a body part every 10-15 games) and is now returning to the Canucks tomorrow night. Young Grabner’s dreams destroyed, he’s been packed off back to Manitoba.
Still, all is not lost. To compensate the rookie for his time, a bonus. From the Vancouver Sun:
Grabner did get to participate in the entire workout Thursday and pocketed about $4,500 US - his NHL salary for a single day - before heading to the airport, accompanied by fellow Moose call-up Alex Bolduc.
