Al Gore Knows His Hockey

Responding to Canada’s current stance against signing onto a reduced- global warming initiative, Al Gore turned to hockey to explain his position. From the CP (via UN Dispatch):
“One of the most famous ice-hockey players in history was asked the secret of why he was so good,” Gore said. “He was the best passer in the history of the game, Bobby Hull. Others might disagree (and say) Wayne Gretzky.
“And he said in response to the question: ‘I don’t pass the puck to where they are - I pass the puck to where they’re going to be’.”
“Over the next two years, the United States is going to be somewhere it is not now. You must anticipate that.”
Whatever your politics, somehow I find it’s always easier to like political types who know their hockey. Hell, even George Bush knows how easily swayed I am.
Good thing I’m not a U.S. voter.

John Kerry played defense in college. Just another reason why things could have been so much better… *sigh*

When are you scheduled to be on the Bill O’reilly show? I have posted a rebuttal.

Ryan - Your habit of calling me alanah-banana is bad enough, but that imagery you just left me with? I don’t need!
Mike Chen - I forgot about Kerry playing. Geez, voting purely on hockey sentimentality, I wouldn’t be able to cast a ballot in your country—too many conflicts for me to deal with. ![]()
HockeyTownTodd- Ha! Very well done. However, in my own defense, I am in no way commenting on American politics in this post. There’s truly nothing I dislike more than politics getting mixed up with my hockey fun.

Alanah, I went out of my way to find a pic without Chelios for you.

Very thoughtful of you. But I’m guessing you’re just saving it up to spring on me another day…

Does he mean Iran?
Or is this a veiled threat that once Hilary is elected, the U.S. will invade Canada and seize all of the real Tim Horton’s coffee?
Be afraid…be very afraid.
