Blogging For Charity

Last year some of you may recall I did the Blogathon 24-hours-of-posting-hockey insanity. With the help of a ton of people who followed along and gave up a few dollars, we raised about US$900.00 for Canucks Place Hospice. Pretty impressive from hockey fans in July, and a great experience for me.
This year’s event started today, but I have other commitments. However, I didn’t want to miss letting you know about two other people who are doing the blogathon for their favorite causes.
First is my good friend Rebecca of Miss 604, (and also one of my co-hosts on the podcast The Crazy Canucks). She’s blogging her way to making money for the Surrey Foodbank today. (Stop by and wish her well, please. I know how long and hard a day it can be!) And if you can donate a few bucks, that would be nice, but not necessary.
Second is Michael of Confessions of a Hockey Fanatic, who’s doing his 24 hours of postings on a separate dedicated website. He’s going to try and talk hockey all day, so give him a bit of support—he’s raising some money for the Mario Lemieux Foundation.
Best of luck to them both!

About Canucks & Beyond
Alanah McGinley has been blogging hockey since 2003 (with a notable gap in time through 2010, kicking it with new baby Lucy while living knee-deep in chaos while reading “parenting for complete idiots” during every spare minute) sharing opinions, rants and not-so-deep thoughts with anyone who will listen.
In addition to writing Canucks & Beyond and helping manage Kukla’s Korner, Alanah was one of the founders and co-hosts of The Crazy Canucks Podcast. She has contributed pieces to FoxSports.com and the New York Times Slapshot blog, as well as other stray destinations in cyberspace.
