Canucks Conundrums

From Iain MacIntyre at the Vancouver Sun, a word on the Ugliest Goal in Texas:

Seventy-two games into the Canucks’ National Hockey League season, we still don’t know what to make of them. In any game, they are as liable to be discouraging as impressive, heartening as alarming. They are praised and they are derided, and are almost never beautiful. [...]

The Canucks winning goal here Saturday ramped up a stick, hit Dallas defenceman Stephane Robidas in the face and bounced into the Stars’ net off Canuck Brendan Morrison’s hip, arm, shoulder or foot. Unless, it went in off his buttocks. Or Robidas.

It was a thing of ugly.

And plenty more on the consistently-inconsistent, perplexing, and largely stressful experience of cheering for the Canucks.

Bieksa scarcely could have played worse, but finished plus-one. Luongo scarcely could have played better, yet allowed three goals. These are the Canucks. They should be called the Conundrums, but it might be hard designing a logo and marketing strategy.
