Canucks Drop Two on Waivers

From TSN:
The Vancouver Canucks placed forward Jeff Cowan on waivers on Saturday, while the club lost defenceman Nathan McIver to the Anaheim Ducks via the waiver wire as well.
Not really surprising moves, but the Legend of Jeff Cowan will be missed (not too many NHL players have inspired women to throw their lingerie on the ice). And courtesy of HockeyFights.com, here’s a final fight from Nathan McIver in the Calgary game a few nights ago.

Thank god Cowan was waived… hopefully he gets picked up, the guy is completely useless.
McIver was OK, but definetly not a big loss imo.

I can’t say I’ll miss either. McIver could be entertaining but he wasn’t a game winner. Cowan had some puck luck for a while, but wasn’t really a skilled guy and was taking up valuable roster space

Too bad for the Moose—I thought McIver was showing potential. He was in over his head playing for the Canucks last year, but was still pretty young. Had they signed him to a one-way contract? Seems odd that he would have even had to clear waivers.
Cowan is no loss. He had an awful season last year and hasn’t looked any better in pre-season.
