Canucks News du Jour

I’m busy working on the main page of KK today, but I’ll add any rumors/signings related to the Canucks to this post as well, for readers looking just for Vancouver news.

Not much out there so far, unless you count Larry Brooks in this morning’s NY Post, noting that the Canucks (among others) are believe to have offered Sean Avery something in his $16 million/4 years ballpark.  Can’t see it happening… but who knows. (One thing I’d bank on today is losing Brendan Morrison. Which annoys me to no end…)

Anyone hears anything else, pass it on.

Update 10:37am PT: Kyle Wellwood signed.
Update 11:36am PT: Sundin to the Canucks? For a mere $20 million, he’s all yours…
Update 1:01pm PT: David Backes signs offer sheet with the Canucks

Update 3:29pm PT: FYI for Canucks fans—the Nashville Predators have signed a one-year, two-way contract with free-agent goaltender Drew MacIntyre.

Note: Check out Waiting for Stanley and the Yankee Canuck for more Canucks news today.

I’m also very, very annoyed at the prospect of losing Morrison. They can’t replace his skill set for what he was making.
