Dear Canucks & Beyond Old Timers:
It’s been a while, and I wouldn’t blame you if you’d all forgotten me… (Alanah, the Canucks fan with the horrifying photoshop skills and the love/hate relationship with Vancouver’s team and the lunatics who run it?) Anyway, I know I sorta vanished prior to this season. I do apologize, but after 6 years of this hockey blogging thing I had to take a break and prepare for a new project I stumbled onto: custom-building my own Canucks fan.
(Though honestly, we’re not 100% sure if she’s a Canucks fan quite yet—when I mentioned the team’s historical track record, her first response was to scream and fill a diaper. Obviously, you can’t blame the kid, but such behavior also sounds more like a Wings or Avalanche fan, so I’ll have to keep you posted…
)
Anyway, just in case any of my old readers and friends still check in sometimes and are curious, let me introduce Lucy Cate, born 3 weeks ago today. A couple more photos of my superstar below…

Thanks to everyone who sent me nice notes on Facebook and through Kukla’s, etc. Much appreciated. I’ve missed you all!!

She looks so happy to be holding that hockey stick. I sense a future women’s hockey gold medalist.

Welcome back, Alanah!
Congratulations, and what a beautiful child!
While you were not blogging, I am absolutely certain you were glued to the Olympic games in Vancouver, (and rooting for Ryan Kessler and team USA!)
And your Canucks have surpassed all expectations! (Thanks to stealing Sammy from the Wings…)
Now for old friend Bertuzzi and his new friends to come after Luongo in the playoffs!

Paul - Luongo must be so flattered!
Alan - Ha! Maybe. Though with my luck, she’ll probably opt to join some female version of the UFC, or something. ![]()
Tony - Thank you very much!
w2j2 - Thanks! And you’re right, I was rooting for Kesler… but as for Team USA, I’ll have to plead the 5th.

Well well well….there’s mommy and daughter. As I said before, I have zero doubt she has better hands than Bernier already.
Congrats Alanah.

I think she might be able to stop some of the softies Luongo’s let in recently, huh? Congrats again!

Congrats! Everyone looks happy and healthy. ![]()
And hopefully you’re getting a decent amount of sleep.

Congrats once more on bringing a future Avs fan into the world!
Posted by Greg from Atl on 03/25/10 at 03:07 PM ET
such behavior also sounds more like a Wings or Avalanche fan
Congrats to you and your family!
I think I can speak for all—okay maybe not all—Red Wings fans when I say we’d be happy to have the adorable Ms. Lucy Cate among our ranks. (Wow, only 3 weeks and she’s already starting to rebel against mom.) Time to start planning “Lucy Cate to Hockeytown” for around 2028!

HEY it’s my favorist Canucks blogger, and probably the cutest too! Congrats Alanah and you man!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!!
Welcome back, we missed you.

Yankee Canuck - She’s pretty impressive. Bernier would certainly be jealous, but he’s got nothing to worry about. Canucks management, on the other hand, is another story. Here’s hoping she runs that team one day. ![]()
Mike Chen - Thanks!
Nathan - I sleep pretty good. I hate to brag (well, not really…!) but she is a pretty awesome baby.
Greg - Did you miss the crack about the diapers? I’d hate to think that went over any Avs fans’ heads… ![]()
YzermanZetterberg - I like the idea of hockey fans fighting for my girl’s allegiance. ![]()
Laker - Long time no see! Nice to see one of my favoritist Canucks fans, too. :D
Birrell - Thanks! You’re very sweet.

YzermanZetterberg - I like the idea of hockey fans fighting for my girl’s allegiance. smile
There’s really nothing to fight about.
As a highly intelligent young lady, she will most certainly be drawn to the greatest and most worthy of all hockey organ-I-zations…the Detroit Red Wings.

Tapeleg - I missed you, too. ![]()
YzermanZetterberg - Alas, I’m way too out of the loop to throw around any decent trash talk these days, but when I get back up to speed, I’m sure I’ll have some great smackdown for a comment like that. But for now, I’ll just congratulate you for your team’s inevitable President’s Trophy this year! (Oh, wait… where are your guys in the standings again?
)

Hasn’t been the same without you around, Alanah, but it’s completely understandable why you took the time off. Congratulations.

Now it all makes sense. Congratulations!
Great to hear you’re doing well, Alanah.
