From the Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins have published a charity cookbook, “Goal Scorers & Gourmets,” to benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. In time for the holidays, the cookbook features favorite recipes from the players and team personnel as assembled by the team’s wives and girlfriends. The book also includes fun food facts for each player, cooking terms and a variety of culinary information.
Cookbooks are available at all Penguins home games through the month of December and by mail order via the Penguins website at http://www.pittsburghpenguins.com.
A good cause, and I love hockey cookbooks. I’ve also copied Sidney Crosby’s Meatball recipe below.
And if you still feel like more hockey food entertainment, František Kaberle’s Chicken Paprika made by my friend Greg last year, still ranks as one of my all-time favorite moments where hockey blogging, booze and food all came together into one delightful heart-attack-on-a-plate.
I’ve cooked it myself twice now. That’s one scary-looking chicken dish, let me tell you.

About Canucks & Beyond
Alanah McGinley has been blogging hockey since 2003 (with a notable gap in time through 2010, kicking it with new baby Lucy while living knee-deep in chaos while reading “parenting for complete idiots” during every spare minute) sharing opinions, rants and not-so-deep thoughts with anyone who will listen.
In addition to writing Canucks & Beyond and helping manage Kukla’s Korner, Alanah was one of the founders and co-hosts of The Crazy Canucks Podcast. She has contributed pieces to FoxSports.com and the New York Times Slapshot blog, as well as other stray destinations in cyberspace.

Remember the Slegr Soup recipe Greg did on HR? My g/f and I love that one, and have it at least once a month.
Just substitute turkey/chicken bacon for a lower-calorie version that allows you to have more meat. In the winter, this soup is truly satisfying.
As for Crosby, I doubt the boy has ever had to cook in his life
