Ice Girl Humiliations

With the opening of the NHL—Powered by Reebok store in New York just over a week ago, I’ve been envious of locals who’ve had a chance to check it out in person. And I’ve been particularly intrigued by the “ice wall” for some reason.
So I whined to a friend who lives in NYC, asking him to visit the place and send me some decent photos of the thing. Yesterday he finally did, trekking down to Sixth Avenue and West 47th Street.
So now I’ve got my photo—but it wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for…
I neglected to consider how much a fan of the Colorado Avalanche (a.k.a. The Evil Empire) would enjoy messing with me.
Ugh. Avs fans suck.

Graffiti about your true love, pictures of you wearing a Wings jersey. Where will it end?

I’m just kicking myself that i didn’t beat you to that wall so i could make the same confession. That’s real dedication, to get a friend to inscribe your deepest sentiments from afar.
St. Patrick is smiling somewhere (while of course admiring his 2 Stanley Cup rings).

Geezus… you Avs fans sure know when to crawl out of the dark and show your faces, don’t you?!

Considering the store was EMPTY when we went there, there should be plenty of space on the wall for us to spread the good word on your admiration for everyone on the whole damn team. We’ll send you more pictures, of course, for posterity.

Just because someone sends you a picture doesn’t mean you have to post it! ![]()
(Next time photoshop it to change one or both of the names. Some good possibilities, there…..)

We take our chances when we can.
Like nocturnal rodents. :D
(I’m sorry, the opening was too readily apparent. I couldn’t help it!)

Emily— Ha! No more Avs pics are needed, I assure you! (But thanks for this one - it gave me a laugh…) ![]()
Baroque— Of course I had to post the photo! I take enough shots at Avalanche fans… I figure when they go to such trouble to take a shot at me, I’d better suck it up.
Although Emily, the co-conspirator in this case, is actually a Rangers’ fan. It’s her Avs-loving-fiancé who was responsible for this particular photo… but I might have to start picking on Shanahan for her benefit now, too.

A Rangers’ fan engaged to a Avs’ fan? Yikes, talk about the spawn of Satan!
