I’m Not Feeling the “Zen”

Since most of the Vancouver media and blogosphere is no doubt talking about how much the Canucks suck today, I’ve decided to leave the topic alone. Instead, I’m focused on something of more immediate importance: a new Canucks Blackberry theme gone awry.
Here’s a screenshot from the new “Zen Theme” for your Blackberry Bold.

Not bad, but then the problems begin…
Basic team fan wallpaper to show off your Canucks fandom is always nice to have for the benefit of people peeking over your shoulder on the bus while you text message Avalanche fans with taunts.
That is, until you get to the Roberto Luongo screenshot:

Wtf?
Is there some noble symbolism here that I’m missing? Because to me, Luongo watering a bush in hockey gear on someone’s front lawn just looks all kinds of wrong.
Perhaps he’s supposed to have just left a kegger at a frat house? In which case, I suppose I should be grateful the wallpaper features him watering with a garden hose…

You see all that in that image? Wow.
How is it that I just see a hockey player on someone’s front lawn whipping out his hose...?

I don’t know, I think it looks just right. Was it taken this past week? He has the time.

If they can get Wellwood at McDonalds, I’ll buy whatever they want me to buy. Two of them in fact.

Reminds me of this ad - and others in that ad campaign.

I’ve had that Luongo picture on my laptop for a couple months now...it’s a great reminder of what their summer was like. They published that wallpaper in July, I think...so there ya go. It was either him watering the garden, or Mitchell fishing, or Naslund packing his bags…

It was the Team wallpaper on June or July or something, so i think it stands as “what do hockey players do in their vacations”.
Or stuff

Now, I admit that I haven’t been back to Vancouver in a few years, but when did you guys get palm trees up there? I don’t understand why your exaulted “captain” would even agree to do this shot…
Come on Alanah, I know I only start chiming in when the ‘Nucks play my Red Wings, but I find all this talk about blackberrys and miss 604’s strange and confusing on a hockey site such as this.
Can’t we talk about Thursday night? Your boy Sanford shut me up last time (I still think he’s making a bid to get an “A” on his mask), but let’s see if they keep persisting to be a thorn in our Winged wheel hydes.

I see palm trees, which makes me think he wants to be playing hockey, and is flooding the field in advance of the remote but still possible freak Floridian snowstorm.
That, and he’s watering what appears to be very, very green foliage, reminding me of just how much greener the grass is with Luongo on your team, how much more confidence your players gain from having him in the lineup.
