As soon as I saw this photo, all I could think of was the thousands of Colorado Avs fans (among others) with long memories who’d want to catapult their computers through a plate glass window as soon as they saw it.
But I figure, rather than damage your pricey technology, why not just caption it in your own special way?

“Now you’re just baiting me.”
Indeed I am. In fact, you could probably argue pretty persuasively that this entire exercise could simply have been called “The Greg Post.” But I figure the rest of the world also benefits, so what the hell…

Oh, man. Now that’s just cold…

Guess what? I am next on Elisha Cuthbert’s list!

“Hey Jim, the roof is leaking again! This time, I’ll catch the drips in my mouth and you twirl like a ballerina.”
OR
“I missed the net by that much?!? No wonder I can’t get back in the lineup!”
OR
“Look man, I’ve been in the locker room with Dion Phaneuf, and I’m tellin’ you you’re way off. No mas grande. Muy piqueno, comprende?”

I was thinking along the same lines, YZ, but in my version the balloon would be over Bedard’s head and he’d be saying:
Get you mind out of the gutter, Malts. What I said was that after that last game, Turco thinks his stick is this wide.

Oh my goodness. Well, if I’m forced to pick a winner… I’m going to chooose:
“Guess what? I am next on Elisha Cuthbert’s list!”
It’s short, it’s sharp and it implies that someone - somewhere - is a tramp. And that’s always entertaining.

“That slash him from behind and then hide behind my shield routine just never gets old! Man, I’m killing me!”
Posted by Bob in Boulder on 05/07/08 at 07:59 PM ET
PS: Shane’s was much better than the one you picked.
Posted by Bob in Boulder on 05/07/08 at 08:01 PM ET
Ahh...Bob, you came back. I’m still waiting for you to eat the dirt in my toes; I’ll work extra in the yard just for you. Actually, cancel that, I have my hockey team to watch as they march to the Cup.
As I said over at A2Y, Shane, Jibble and Joe are fine, and good sportsmen generally; they even came to A2Y after the Avs lost to commiserate and congratulate. You, on the other hand, are a sniveling little 9uss that couldn’t man up after talking S&@t. If I were an Avs blogger, I’d ban you for being a disgrace.

Bob—I admit, Shane’s was good. But trashing the lowly Canucks fan = bad!
Osrt—Please don’t take this the wrong way, but Bob left a caption on this post as he was invited to do. Do you really need to have a bickering match on this page? It wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. And I’m a Canucks fan… I hate both your teams equally.

Sorry Alanah; I meant no disrespect to you or the blog. I just really can’t stand that guy and have been waiting for him to come back to A2Y like the others did.
And I’m a Canucks fan… I hate both your teams equally.
awww...we hate (read: pity) you too.
Posted by Osrt on 05/08/08 at 01:31 AM ET
Thanks, Osrt, and no worries. I didn’t take any disrespect from it, I just dream of a world where every hockey fan can (sort of) get along!
(And you should pity me. Being a Canucks fan is frequently a life of horrible suffering...)

Alanah,
I’m actually a Canuck fan second. I went to quite a few games up there when I lived in Seattle. So I partially feel your pain. I listen to Team 1040 on the net quite frequently during the season.
Osrt,
Why on earth would I want to join your little circle jerk over at A2Y? Seriously? Your team kicked the crap out of the Lake Erie Monsters. Congrats. Now move on already. And Go Stars. (and I hate the Stars) Luckily, I don’t live in Detroit, so I have better and more important things to move on to. That aren’t burnt to the ground.
