Musical Chairs for Roster Spots: From Victoria to Manitoba to Vancouver

Vancouver recalled Nathan McIver from Manitoba this past Tuesday, concerned with a possible injury to Alex Edler. Edler ended up able to play (scoring the GWG in a shootout that night, no less) and so McIver was shipped right back to the Moose on Wednesday.
Today, McIver has been recalled yet again… and Jason Jaffray has been sent back to the Moose.
I’ve got no idea why McIver is drawing into the lineup, so if someone wants to fill the rest of us in, please do. But this has also triggered the Moose to do a recall from the ECHL Salmon Kings in Victoria, as well.
Jaffray’s trip to the prairies is easier to figure out. Kris Beech—yesterday’s waiver wire pick up—will be making his first appearance as a Canuck tonight.
A Winger for a Center? It’ll shake out somewhere. Besides, I think Alain Vigneault views all forwards as the same position—DL’s (defensive liabilities).
Finally, Luongo won’t be playing tonight in favor of Curtis Sanford. Back-to-back games, so it’s not surprising, except when you consider this:
Since joining the Vancouver Canucks in the summer of 2006, all-star goaltender Roberto Luongo has started every regular-season and playoff game at GM Place.
Until now.

Are the Rumers about Peter Forsberg and how he might be comming to Vancouver true….”
Answer: Yes. However, they’re equally “true” for 15 other teams in the NHL…
and the ones about kesler going to Phili true????
Answer: Only if Nonis suffers a total and complete emotional and intellectual breakdown, making it impossible for him to function as a rational human being.
