From Sportsnet.ca alerts:
“Kevin Bieksa out 6-8 weeks (lacerated calf muscle). Sami Salo out 4 weeks (broken nose surgery).”
Alas. But then, who needs defense when you have great offense?
(Oh, wait…)
Update - Couple Other Notes
(1) Luc Bourdon has been called up from the Manitoba Moose.
(2) No trades, signings or other deals are forthcoming. Not a big surprise.

I’m just saying—Tomas Kloucek would look pretty good on the Canucks’ blueline right now, wouldn’t he?

About Canucks & Beyond
Alanah McGinley has been blogging hockey since 2003 (with a notable gap in time through 2010, kicking it with new baby Lucy while living knee-deep in chaos while reading “parenting for complete idiots” during every spare minute) sharing opinions, rants and not-so-deep thoughts with anyone who will listen.
In addition to writing Canucks & Beyond and helping manage Kukla’s Korner, Alanah was one of the founders and co-hosts of The Crazy Canucks Podcast. She has contributed pieces to FoxSports.com and the New York Times Slapshot blog, as well as other stray destinations in cyberspace.

I am fairly confused about the Canucks so far, did management think that they would carry over that excellent 2nd half play from last season, because I thought they would to an extent, but after watching the last few games and watching all the highlights of all their games so far this season, it seems the twins arent playing up to their ability, the 3rd and 4th line just go out there and do what they can, and they arent even effective in the least Luongo has been very average, Naslund has been stymied so often it isnt funny, and the rest seem to just go about business and not doing much either.
Even those last 2 games with Detroit, the Wings dominated those games and you could see the individual talent of guys like Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Fillpula, etc etc…. but the Canucks didnt have anyone that stood out in those games, or this season for that matter.
This could be one long frustrating season, and I may regret purchasing Directv with the amount of pain forthcoming.
Nah.
Go Nucks!!!!
