Sedin Line Getting Raymonized

From Canucks Nation at The Province:

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

In the Canucks case, that looks like it means the the end of the Steve Bernier-on-the-first line experiment.

It was flawed from the start as Bernier’s style never meshed with the Sedin twins. Now, the twins get something they desperately need — speed.

Admittedly it’s not been working very well lately, but was it really “flawed from the start”?  One of the first things that was apparent about the Sedins partnership with Bernier was that he gave them a physical presence where they’d never had one before. And for a couple games it seemed like it might work.

Anyway, onwards and upwards to LA, where Daniel and Henrik Sedin will now be hitting the ice with Mason Raymond.  More details on lineup changes at The Province.

When can I jumpstart those “fire Vigneault” screams or do I have to wait until the team is thoroughly in the toilet before I can do that?

You have to wait.  But don’t worry—Vigneault hears those screams in his head every minute of every day. smile

Sure, the Sedins and Bernier made me want to pull my hair out yesterday, but why Raymond? His speedy little off the rush plays will go nowhere with the Sedins. *Sigh*

Why doesn’t AV try Wellwood there? He’s more the Sedins speed smile

So the second line is now what? Bernier/Wellwood/Pyatt?

the raymond thing is doomed to failure i think.  he’s not a cycle the puck guy, and he’s not a camp in front of the net guy so i don’t see how he fits any better than bernier.  like the article says krog is probably smart and hard working enough to mesh with the twins but that line would get owned by physical teams.

and someone needs to explain to me what taylor pyatt does on the ice that warrants his continued presence in the top 6.
