Singing the Blues, Crushing Avalanches and Terrorized by Bananas

After reading Nucks Misconduct’s assessment of the Canucks last night, the Yankee had me reaching for a razor blade and pondering my wrists. His fury is infectious, but ultimately I decided he was over-reacting (as usual!). After all, how much can a Canucks’ fan complain? The team is 6-3-1 in the last 10 games, the only games the team has lost since February 24th. And after suffering beheadings, dental surgeries and eviscerations to survive and win that Dallas game, I’m just glad they managed stand upright on their skates for three hours in St. Louis.
Of course, tonight is different. Tonight is the Avs and if the Canucks lose that match-up in such fashion as last night’s effort, it would indeed be painful and anger-inducing. I’ll keep the razor handy (in case it’s necessary to sever the TV cable, not my wrists) but remain optimistic.
Randomly, I found myself on Jimmy Fallon’s website today, and this old video below (which I’d never seen before) jumped out at me.
It features—honest to Sundin—a giant banana on a rampage, terrorizing Florida Panthers fans:
I hope this starts a trend. Rampaging fruit is simply comic gold.

Speaking as an Avs fan, you should feel nervous if the Canucks don’t manage at least six goals tonight. It’s not fun down here in the cellar. I’m pinning my hopes on signing the banana for next year.

The Dallas game was a tough one physically. Funny how we play so well against Dallas to a total blow out against the Blues.
Hot and cold nights is just something we Canuck fans are used too. As infuriating as it is, its something we have grown to accept.

I am a disease.
However, I don’t believe I am over reacting when the team blatantly mails it in halfway through the first. I don’t mind losing if they bring their best and the other team is simply better. Last night was men vs. boys and it’s THOSE types of losses that infuriate me to no end. Last I checked the Canucks should be trying just as hard to get those points as the bubble teams.
Couple that with how the team can go from hot to cold so quickly and that’s what drew my ire. I do hope I’m wrong though.
And you must be really bored to be messing around on Fallon’s site. An unfunnier man is tough to find!
