Those CanCucks Get Better Every Day

Now if they can just sign SunKdin, they might be able to ice a hockey team come October.

Update 10:54am PT: Craig Custance of the Sporting News passes on that Demitra’s deal is for 2 years, $4 million per.

Sunkdin = Famous SwedKish forward who may want to play for the CanCucks in CanaKa.

With the signing of Bernier and Sundin my blood pressure has fallen slightly. Signing Sundin would be great. I hope the twins/ohlund are doing a good job pursuading Mats to get his a$$ to Vancouver.

They can already ice a team. Based on Naslund/Morrison/Linden’s performance last year they have more than made up for it.

Dimitra matched Naslund’s points in 14 less games. Johnson matches up with Linden almost identically but is a “few” years younger. Or 12. Kesler is ready to move to the second line centre if Sundin doesn’t sign. Wellwood adds talent especially on the PP. Then you throw Bernier in who is even a better fit than Carter or Pyatt were/are for the Sedins. Bernier is big, tough, right handed shot, and gets into great position in the cycle game. The Canucks defense has not changed and they have Luongo.

The Canucks already are better than last year. I don’t get people making ridiculous comments that the Canucks are going to suck because Naslund, Linden and Morrison are gone. If we lost both twins who were PPG players last year (or just under) I could see being more nervous.

Hmmm. Maybe you took my smartassed remark a little too seriously, Danno.  ‘Twas only meant to be facetious. smile

Like Trini, I’m feeling optimistic lately—but that doesn’t mean I’m going to say “thanks, but no thanks” to Sunkdin Sundin if he’s willing to show up in town!

FYI - since a large handful of people have pointed out my “errors” in this post, I’d like to state here that the extra C in Canucks and the K in Sundin were deliberate, not typos.  (Look closer at the TSN screenshot...)

Sheesh. It amused me—but apparently I’m the only one. smile

I can understand short form for text messages.  However, the proliferation of short form, poor grammar, and general laziness when it comes to spelling & spell-checking on the Internet really bothers me!

I guess TSN will need to hire a spell checker for its Photoshop department.

I sure would like to see your smartass! Don’t take it personally though, but I would rather see Sundin’s in a Canucks jersey.

My big knock against Dimitra is that there aren’t many seasons in his carrier where he has been hurt less than 10 games. He’s glass just like Salo......

the Vancouver Cuckolds would be more appropriate at this point.

Apparently Gillis has been talking to Sundin about which players he would like to play with and keeps regular dialogue with him and his agent. There is about 90% chance he signs in Van.

poor Lidstrom, Zetterberg, and Holmstrom, they carry their team to the Cup, prove that Swedes are capable of leading a team to the promised land, and now the Canucks are going to dispel that notion by building a team around the Sedins (a ridiculous notion since Borje Salming was a helluva tough player who withstood tons of abuse when he entered the league). Vancouver would be wise to dump the Sedins and sign the Olsen twins, or are they one and the same? Only Sean Avery knows the answer, I suppose. Sundin is such a clown it’s beyond absurd; has the dude ever even been to the Conference Finals? I could be wrong, but I don’t recall, probably because he was on the Nordiques when the Leafs made their last run, and after he was traded, the Nordiques became the Avalanche and won the Cup. Tie Domi was the heart and soul of the most recently successful Leafs’ squads.

Maybe you should do your homework before making such a bad comment. First of all Sundin has taken them to a conference final more than once and about the Sedin twins, they may be sisters but they get 80 points a year each, more than sean avery has ever had, and I will take that any day. And to your building the team around them, they are a second line, the team is clearly built around Luongo and their defence. Maybe you should watch more hockey and you will be able to figure it out yourself.
