Welcome Back, Michel

Yesterday we said goodbye... but that was miraculously premature, as it happens. Somehow Michel Ouellet has cleared waivers and has made his way to the Vancouver Canucks.
Given the shortage of forwards developing lately, this is very good news indeed. But the fact that Mike Gillis and his team got this lucky is almost unfathomable.
How on earth did he not get snapped up? A lot of great commentary about Ouellet can be found in the comments of this mc79 hockey post.
Update 11:05am PT: Forgot to add, Jason Krog is now down with the Moose.

Ouellet blows, sorry but he does. There is a reason no one wants him. Having watched him play for a while with the Pens, I can tell you that he blows. He doesn’t try at all, he doesn’t backcheck he doesn’t forcheck, he’s a panzy, the list goes on. IF he would ever put 100% into a season, he could score 30 goals easy, because he has the skill, but he’s a jerk, no one likes him, and he has never played hard in his life.

Well from what I saw out of Ouellett last night he did a lot of nice things in the 3rd where he was downright chippy and physical around the net. I’m going to dismiss Kevin from Pittburgh’s comments until Ouellett has had at least a feakin’ practise with the Canucks. After all, nobody in this town had any faith in Kyle Wellwood and now he’s our unsung hero.
What you fail to grasp Kevin is that this is the canucks and not the pens. The canucks are part of some upsidown backwards world where things don’t make sense and guys like Ouellett might be the future leading goal scorer of this team.

That’s the best description I’ve ever seen of the Canucks hahaha.

Having never really watched the guy (though rather excited to) what line does he fall to? If Bernier is back with the Sedins and Raymond slides down to Kesler’s line, is it Pyatt/Wellwood/Ouellet?
