The Stanley Cup makes a guest appearance on Thursday’s new episode of the Food Network’s Ace of Cakes. The Cup modeled for the bakers at Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, who were tasked with re-creating the holy grail of hockey for a wedding cake. The happy couple: two Washington Capitals season ticket holders who met at a Caps game. The episode airs tonight at 10 p.m., ET on the Food Network.
This left me with questions, like: Do bakers know their hockey? Is a hockey cake that popular a topic it can sustain a television show? What kind of hockey cakes are there?
