From good friend of the blog Jim Cerny at BlueshirtsUnited.com:
Following Friday’s morning skate at the Verizon Center, Rangers head coach John Tortorella announced that rugged winger Sean Avery—-a healthy scratch in Game One—-would be in the lineup tonight for Game Two against the Capitals, and that Mats Zuccarello would be scratched.
Torts had this to say of Avery: “When Sean is consistent with his play, he can add some forechecking to us. He should also add some energy to our lineup. Hopefully Sean adds some juice.”
Avery’s reaction to playing tonight?: “I’m ready to go. I don’t worry about anything. I am just ready to play hockey.”
