The Rangers have a 19.4 percent chance of reaching the postseason, according to the calculations of http://www.sportsclubstats.com.
None of which fazes Drury.
“I think we are,” the captain said when asked if the Rangers were a playoff team.
“We’ve proven in the games that we’ve put it all together. We can beat Pittsburgh, we beat the Devils at home, we beat Washington early in the [season]. It’s just a matter of doing it consistently and doing it consistently over 60 minutes.

Sure they can beat the best teams in the conference here and there, but can they do it four out of seven? Not likely.

Man, I hope this team does NOT make the playoffs. I can’t even watch full games anymore, they’re so, so boring.

I think this is a common mistake.
There are probably small exceptions here and there, but for the most part, teams don’t make the playoffs by being consistent; they make the playoffs by being good. Every team in the league has good games, bad games, and average games. The difference between the good teams and the bad teams is that a good team’s good game is better than a bad team’s good game, and so on.
The worst team in the league can beat the best team one time out of five on the right night. That doesn’t prove anything.
