Drury Frustrated

From good friend of the blog Greg Wyshynski at Puck Daddy:
So Drury threw down the gauntlet, fueled by frustration. From the NY Daily News:
“Again, it’s consistency. It’s so obvious how we have to play and see how successful we can be with it, and it just again, it bites us in the ass. We’re just not consistent with it. What we did well against Philly was the opposite end of the spectrum tonight.
Why that consistency is not there, a seething Drury said: “It’s immaturity. That’s what it’s been all year.”

EDIT: My bad. I forgot about the Rangers amazing ‘upset’ of the Thrashers 3 years ago.
I’m not even a Rangers fan and I’m ticked at what’s going on in NY.
The NHL needs to have the Rangers be successful. It can only help the entire league. Just look at the Yankees and Redsox. Those 2 teams basically carry the whole league financially.

Drury wasn’t with the Rangers for that series. He was with Buffalo, who beat the Rangers after that sweep.
He was with the Rangers for their win over the Devils the next year, however.

If Drury had any class or leadership he’d give back half his bloated salary so the Blueshirts could sign a good offensive player.
Sather should have lost his job after signing 60-point Gomez to a gazzillion dollars. But after signing 10 goal scoring Drury to over $7M/season he should have been shot.
Chris Drury is one of the most overrated players in NHL history.
He had some talent when he was younger and was able to parlay that into multiple 20-goal seasons as Forsberg and Sakic’s winger.
And he thrived in the wide-open Buffalo system hiding behind Briere and Connolly.
But it’s painfully obvious this guy brings little to the table on his own. He can’t control Sean Avery and he has yet to win a playoff round with the Rangers. And he’s supposed to be a ‘clutch’ player? Give me a break.
