Embarassing

Last night’s 6-3 loss to the Vancouver Canucks can be described in one word: embarrassing.
Through the first 30 minutes of the tilt, the New York Rangers were nowhere to be found, especially in the defensive zone as Rangers’ goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was hung out to dry.
That brings me to my next point: Lundqvist did not pull himself from the game last night.
In his Rangers’ Report Blog, Sam Weinman of The Journal News revealed that Henrik looked for his head coach, Tom Renney, to give him a sign that it was time to call it a night. Many fans at Madison Square Garden last night probably assumed that Henrik bailed on his team but that just isn’t the case here.
With that being said, many fans probably wondered why Renney left him in there so long.
“Let him battle,” Renney told reporters after last night’s massacre at the Garden. “Let the team battle in front of him.”
Unfortunately for Renney and Henrik, the team didn’t battle and Lundqvist was the victim as he was left all alone on most of the five goals he allowed. It wasn’t until Renney put in backup netminder Stephen Valiquette that the team skated harder and put forth a much better defensive effort.
It also didn’t help that Scott Gomez, who was out with a stress fracture in his right ankle) wasn’t on the ice to provide the team with more speed and an added scoring punch.
For now, both the Rangers and their goaltender will have to put this embarrassing game behind them and focus on their next one on Saturday afternoon in Ottawa against the Senators. Hopefully, they’ll be there for 60 minutes instead of the 30 they put in last night.

oh ya that reminds me, there was a paper or column stating that the canucks were garbage, and harsh ragged on us. it was from newyork. they claimed that since we dindt beat the islanderse, that the rangers would destroy us. hahah

Naslund was terrible last night for the Rags, maybe not so much in the 3rd period but the other 2 he was contained easily.
The Rangers defense was out of sync for the most part it seemed in the first 2 periods.
