Habs Questions

I know that many Montreal Canadien fans are angry about the way things went this season. It was their 100th in the league and many pundits and fans alike figured that the team would be contending for the Stanley Cup.
Well, as you all know, that dream came to an end last night when the Boston Bruins completed the sweep against their biggest rival. After the loss, I am wondering about a few things that I would like you folks to comment on:
1) Who is to blame?
2) What happened to netminder Carey Price? What did you think of his gesture to the crowd last night?
3) Will Bob Gainey be with the team next season? If so, in what capacity?
4) Who will coach the Canadiens next season?
5) What can the team do to get better for next season?

1) Gainey. He didn’t do enough at the trade deadline. Komisarek got hurt a couple months ago and the defence started to struggle. Schneider helped with the powerplay, but not really with the EV defence. I would’ve also liked to have seen some additional scoring up front - in my opinion there was too much reliance on some of the young, unproven players (D’Agostini, Pacioretty).
Whether holding onto players was a good move in the long term is a different question.
2) I think he’ll be fine when he gets a decent defensive scheme playing in front of him. The gesture will be forgotten. He doesn’t have the temper that Patrick did, so this should be an isolated incident.
3) Gainey will be GM. I don’t think the front office is going to make any rash decisions on this. The team made the playoffs but was hamstrung by injury.
4) Marc Crawford?
5) Get a true no. 1 center. Koivu isn’t one at this stage in his career, and I doubt Plekanec ever will be.

1) Everyone, including fans.
2) He’s young, and young goalies are VERY rare. He’ll be better in the future
3) Shoudn’t be, in any capacity. 10 UFA’s? Kevin Lowe doesn’t even do that.
4) ....Probably Roy.
5) Heart. All heart. The team has no identity. Lose Kovy. Get someone that WANTS to be there.
