Two games, 83 shots and no goals. Isn’t there something wrong with this stat?
The New York Rangers have done everything they can to throw the puck on net but to no avail, as Martin Brodeur (New Jersey Devils) and Mike Brodeur (Ottawa Senators) shut them out on Tuesday night and Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.
This must make Rangers’ netminder Henrik Lundqvist furious as he has stopped 75 of 76 shots in the last two games combined, doing everything he can to get his club two points.
This weekend, the Rangers take on the St. Louis Blues (in St. Louis tomorrow night) and the Montreal Canadiens (at the Garden on Sunday). Hopefully, they’ll be able to put the puck in the net and pick up a victory or two as every point matters right now, especially in the Eastern Conference.
It’s not time to panic just yet, folks. The team has played well enough to win in it’s last two games and fans should not expect anything different this weekend against the Blues and Habs.
