If Jagr Returns to the NHL, Edmonton is the place to be

From the Canadian Press via TSN.ca:
Jaromir Jagr can see himself in an Edmonton Oilers jersey someday.
While the 37-year-old plans to play out the final year of his contract with Avangard Omsk of the Continental Hockey League next season, he hasn’t ruled out a return to the NHL in the future.
And if he does decide to go back to North America, he’d love to play for the team that offered him a free-agent contract last summer and made inquiries about his services during the season.
Do you think Jaromir Jagr, who last played with the New York Rangers, would be a good fit for the Oilers?
What do you folks think?

I first heard about the rumour from cbc during the telecast of game 1 canucks vs. hawks. Don’t have the source but I swear they mentioned something about Jagr saying he’d be affective as a 3rd line scorer…. Did anyone hear the same thing or am i just hallucinating?

@Howard: yes, Jaromir said that. Hes just an honest guy. He knows hes too old to carry an offense now but that being said he was the best scorer in the NHL the last time he played (top scorer over the first 2 rounds of the 2008 playoffs)

jagr too old to carry a team on his shoulders. it rather see a quality C/LW or a goalie instead of jagr.

I know nothing about the Oilers, but if they do hire Renney, that would be an interesting choice for Jagr. He liked Renney, but Renney’s defensive system definitely stifled him after a while.
Honestly though, I’m not sure Jags will ever make it back here before he retires.
