Not to be Taken Lightly

That is exactly the attitude the New York Rangers should take tonight when they take on the Florida Panthers tonight in Florida at the BankAtlantic Center.
The Panthers are currently leading the Southeast Division and are showing that they are a tough team to play against. They are a club that never gives up, knows how to battle back and can put the puck in the net.
Much like the Blueshirts, the Panthers have also played terrific hockey in their last seven games, having won five of them. They are also off to one of their best starts in franchise history at 11-6-3 with 25 points.
With all of that in mind, the Blueshirts will need to do everything in their power to play a smart road game. For the Rangers, that means staying out of the box, getting an early lead, playing smart in their own end and getting good goaltending.
If the Blueshirts can do all of that and not take the Panthers lightly, the team will be able get off to a good start on a tough three game stretch which also includes a stop in Washington on Friday and a game at the Garden on Saturday afternoon against the Philadelphia Flyers.
For the Rangers, every point matters so getting two points tonight would certainly get the team back on the right track heading into Friday’s tilt with the Capitals.
