Questions Heading into the All-Star Break

Since the NHL All-Star Break has arrived, I figured that this would be the best time to ask some questions out loud and get your thoughts.
- When will New York Islanders’ goaltender Rick DiPietro ever be healthy?
- Will this finally be the year that the Columbus Blue Jackets make the Stanley Cup Playoffs?
- Why isn’t Alex Ovechkin a starter in the All-Star game?
- With the strong play of New Jersey Devils’ netminder Scott Clemmenson, what happens to Kevin Weekes once Martin Brodeur is healthy?
- Can anyone else believe that Claude Lemieux is once again an NHLer?
- Who’s better: the San Jose Sharks, Detroit Red Wings or Boston Bruins?
- Could we see an original six matchup in the Stanley Cup Finals this spring between the big bad Bruins and the Wings?
- Will this finally be the year that New York Rangers’ star goaltender Henrik Lundqvist gets recognized as the league’s top goaltender by winning the Vezina Trophy?
- Will Sean Avery ever play in the NHL again?
- Will the press ever look at hockey in a positive light?
These are just a few of the many questions that are on my mind right now but I wanted to gauge your thoughts. Leave your comments folks!

Brodeur will not be the odd man out. When he comes back, Sutter will play him and he will be the team’s goaltender in the playoffs.

Rick DiPietro ? Never be the same
- Blue Jackets Playoffs? Not unless they add a little more to the O, but Umberguer is starting to come on.
- Alex Ovechkin All-Star game? Who cares, Tckuck is in the game
- Scott Clemmenson, Kevin Weekes, Martin Brodeur ? Brodeur odd man out must have been a joke. If Brodeur is ready by the trade deadline you use Clemmenson as bait for depth.
- Claude Lemieux ? I saw him on Pro’s vs Joes last year and it was sad, so no I can’t believe it.

“Who’s better: the San Jose Sharks, Detroit Red Wings or Boston Bruins?”
There are honestly only two answers to this.
1) The Red Wings
or
2) Ask me again after the Finals are over.
The reason behind option 1 is that the Wings are the defending champs and need to be knocked off that podium before a team can be considered better than them. San Jose hasn’t made it past the second round since the lockout and Boston has only made the playoffs once since the lockout, and they were knocked out in the first round last year. Regular season dominance means nothing (see the beginning of the 07-08 Senators season or, for even better evidence, the 95-96 and 00-01 Red Wings seasons), so until the Sharks and/or Bruins show that they can carry their play into the playoffs, they can’t be considered better.
The reason behind option 2 is that I don’t think any claim can be made again till one of these teams does better than the others in the playoffs.
I admit that I’m a Wings fan, but I don’t think that colours anything I’m saying.

Unless Hank has something like a 0.20 GPA for the rest of the season there’s no way he’s even nominated for the Vezina. I don’t care if the D has been questionable in front of him, since it was last year also, and he was better then.
