Rangers’ Forwards Stepping Up

In the three games that New York Rangers’ superstar Marian Gaborik has been out, the team has scored 12 goals in the combined three wins.

For the team and its fans, it has been a sight for sore eyes as the team has generally struggled to put the puck in the net this season. However, in the team’s three straight wins over the Pittsburgh Penguins, Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators, the team has been able to produce and has received solid production from guys such as Erik Christensen, Sean Avery, Olli Jokinen, Ryan Callahan and Vinny Prospal.

This is going to need to be the case tonight when the Blueshirts take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden. We all know the Pens’ can score but if the team can play shut down defense and get good goaltending from Henrik Lundqvist, the offense, in turn, will have to step up and find the back of the net.

A win in this game, as always, would help in the standings as the Blueshirts need to do everything they can over the next month to try and get into the playoffs, certainly not an easy task.
