Not sure what Glen Sather was thinking when he signed Donald Brashear, do you? Yes, he’s an enforcer who can fight but that’s about all he can do, unless Sather and the rest of the Rangers’ brass saw something else.
What do you folks think of this?

As a diehard ranger fan, more than anything, I’m sad
The Rangers are supposed to stand for something
this signing makes me think we stand for nothing at all.
*#$%@& THAT GUY

If I had to choose between them, I would have chosen Orr. Plus, I think he signed for less, right? So if you wanted a goon why not just keep the one you have?

I’ll miss Brashear here in Washington. He was said to be a GREAT locker room guy.
That said, he was signed in New York for one BIG reason… the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Flyers have put together one of the toughest teams the NHL has seen in A LONG time. They’re tougher than the Ducks Cup team.
Brashear is a deterrent. He did it last year for the Caps when he beat the snot out of Riley Cote; ran Powell; got jumped (no damage) by Gratton; and then scared the hell out of Asham.
No matter how tough the Flyers are, the Rangers now have the trump card… Donald Brashear.

About Goal Line Report
The Goal Line Report will focus on all things Eastern Conference. Do I have a bias towards the Eastern Conference just because I am a New Yorker? No, but it certainly does make things easier! I’ll make my opinions known on Eastern Conference news bits (as often as I can), big games, hot and cold players, trades (I don’t make things up) and anything and everything else related to the Eastern Conference that I think is important for hockey fans to know. I will, in every sense of the word, be the beast of the East while also making sure to drop my thoughts on other hockey news items.
I, Patrick Hoffman, have covered the NHL since 2003 and have worked for a variety of hockey media sources including: Stan Fischler, Spector’s Hockey, TheHockeyNews.com, HockeyBuzz.com, McKeen’s Hockey, Blueshirt Bulletin, XM Home Ice Channel Hockey Blog, HockeyPrimeTime.com, FantasyHockey.com. NY SportsDay, and HokejaVestnesis.com.

i’m curious how he justifies this signing. it’s worse than voros and rissmiller combined.
