The Right Kind of Hockey Story - Updated

Mike Ross of XM Home Ice decided to share with us an e-mail he received from a listener in his latest blog. It’s a really good story on what hockey players are really all about.

Too bad the rest of the world doesn’t read/hear about hockey stories like this.

That’s a mass e-mail that has been making the rounds of late. Not sure Mike Ross is the author. If not, odd that he didn’t cite the e-mail or the fact that he did not write that.

In general, I’m not sure I buy the unheated bus melodrama. But Sassone in his blog confirmed most of the key details.

Way to go, Black hawks!
That shows a lot of class, and leadership, too.

I am from Chicago and have held tickets for thirty years until I came out here.  The new blood in the Blackhawk office has made a team that works together as in the old days in the 60’s.

Chicago Hockey players have always been there for any cause that would help the people of Chicago.  It has been like this from 1949 when I went to my first Hawks game with my father.  The family has had tickets for over 50 years +.

Great of you to share your story John.  I am always glad to see an ‘experienced’ hockey fan comment here.

I saw my first game at the Olympia in 1962, I bet we could share some stories.

This news deserves to be on the front pages of any Chicago newspaper. Honestly , I don’t understand how this story went unnoticed and Derrick Rose makes headline news just because he cut himself with a knife(that was such an irresponsible thing to do).
What the Blackhawks did was honestly something other pro teams, in my opinion,  would never do but should do Unless they’re really united as a team. That shows who the true classy players are in professional sports, Hockey Players. Enough Said
