They Can Do It!

According to friend of the blog Stan Fischler, the New York Rangers should be able to come away with four points in their next two games against the New York Islanders tonight at the Garden and tomorrow night at the Coliseum.

I’m not so sure I agree. Yes, the Rangers played well on Monday night against the Atlanta Thrashers but again, they were only able to skate away with one point rather than two, which is the name of the game. Let’s also not forget the Isles beat the Rangers in the team’s first meeting of the season.

Here’s more from the Maven:

Frankly — like Torts — I saw too many good things on Monday to doubt that the Rangers can get rolling once more.

They have the perfect victims in their cross-county rivals; and twice in a row, no less.

There will be no excuses for an all-or-nothing-at-all effort. It has to be and Tortorella will have the (invisible) whip in hand.

A double-doozie is in store for the fans of both teams.

A pair of four-pointers.

Ah, but will the Rangers get the point(s)?

If they should ever go oh-for-four, thunderclaps will be heard.

On the other hand, four-for-four would catapult them — as I expect will happen — right back into the playoff race.

I like Stan’s optimistic view, he’s trying to make us Ranger fans feel a bit better and have some hope.

BUT the fact of the Matter is until we see Drury, Rosival, Redden and others perform the way they are being paid for… We can expect this same result. We have too many guys with big contracts and very little production.
