Third Jerseys On the Way for The Blueshirts

According to New York Rangers beat writer Steve Zipay of Newsday and SNY.com, the Rangers will have a new third jersey starting in November:

Rumors of this new apparel began while I was on vacation—-actually prior to that, in fact. Anyway, I’ve been told that it will debut in November.  Working on more details.  One possibility: “New York” on front,  rather than Rangers.

Citing sources, SNY.com is reporting it will be a commemorative type for the 85th anniversary of the franchise. From 1978 to 1987, the Rangers wore a blue jersey with “NEW YORK”.  Of course, Rangers still wear “Liberty” jerseys in practices.

What do you folks think?
