From Patrick Hoffman (me) at MaxHockey.com:
As Brooks mentioned, Torts needs to show his metal over the course of the next week as the Rangers take on some of the league’s best clubs. For him to do that, he is going to need to come up with the right lines, defensive pairings and make the right goaltending decision, something he did not do last week against the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
IMO, Torts should have started backup netminder Steve Valiquette on Friday night against the Lightning and then should have gone to Lundqvist to face the mighty Penguins. Obviously, Torts went in a different direction and ultimately payed the price for it.

Make no mistake about it: the Torts Meltdown is only weeks away.
Will he get Larry Brooks in a headlock while Avery taunts him about an ex-girlfriend? Will Torts swing a stick at some reporter who dares ask what line will start that night?
Who knows, and it doesn’t matter. What matters is that it will happen, and it will happen soon.
Just for the record, I predicted on here that Torts would lose it in the first half of this season. But then again, that is only slightly easier than predicting the sun will rise in the east.
