This Is Your Captain Speaking

After blowing a four goal lead last night and losing in overtime to the Washington Capitals, New York Rangers team captain Chris Drury had the following to say:
- “That could be the point that gets us home-ice advantage. “I’m certainly not going to let it ruin my Christmas and I don’t think anyone here is going to let it ruin their break, either.”
- “There are 24 others teams in this league who would be dying to have our record, with all the points we’ve accumulated over a tough schedule. It’s certainly not a good way to get a point. But it’s over and done with. It’s already in the garbage can as far as I’m concerned.”
What do you folks think about this?

Drury said what he had to say. He’s the captain of the team… of course he’s going to say “we have to throw it in the garbage and move on.” What else is there to say? They played a horrible second half and cannot play a complete game… he doesn’t need to say that. Their performance said that and continues to say that. It’s a consistent problem with them and the team is flawed. Defense has been very weak this year compared to the past couple of years.

as a rangers fan i say that drury is an idiot.
as obama said “its time for change”
the D has got to go and the coaching staff has got to take some responsibility. I think some of those people (perry pearn, tom renney) should be losing their jobs over this crisis that we call the 08-09 season.
its amazing the only place in the entire country where you dont have to conisistently perform well at your job on a day to day basis is the coaching staff of the new york rangers.
